INM

Institut National des arts du Music-hall

Preparatory school

FEDEC member since 2015

Only training center in France dedicated to the music hall arts, the INM enables the professionalization and integration into the workplace of artists by focusing all of its pedagogy towards employment.

It was founded in 2006 by Alain Heuzard and has two main objectives:

  • Integrating artists into the workplace
  • Participating in the renewal of the Music Hall genre

It offers training to professional artists to maintain or develop skills.

It provides multidisciplinary training (dancing, singing and comedy) for young artists who are proficient in a ‘core’ discipline upon admission (circus (all disciplines), dance, singing, music, ventriloquism, magic, etc.).

4 teaching principles:

  • Confrontation with the audience: the choice of work-study
  • The purpose of professional integration
  • Learner empowerment and differentiation of pathways
  • Cultural openness

Two main functional choices are informed by these structural premises: reflective teaching and transversal employment/training support.

The INM has been an apprentice training centre (CFA) since 2010 and has a 93% employment rate with 90 apprentices integrated over 10 years. The artists who leave us perform in multidisciplinary shows in France and internationally, in cabarets, musicals, circuses and even companies.
