École Professionnelle de Cirque Social La Tarumba

Escuela Profesional de Circo Social La Tarumba

Preparatory school

La Tarumba started in 1984 and develops 2 main lines: Artistic Production and Pedagogical work creating a unique proposal with own identity that contributes to Peru’s development.

In 2002, pushed by the necessity of new artists and teachers to amplify the range of their shows and workshops, they create (until now) the first and only Professional Circus School in Peru, receiving young people from all over the country and even international students.

La Tarumba Professional Circus School is a training program in several circus techniques that seeks to form multidisciplinary artists with skills and abilities that allow them to practice the profession from a social role.

It’s a 3-year training program developed from practice to theory; with La Tarumba´s artistic and pedagogical proposal in order to train creative, solidary and curious professional artists with leadership and management skills.

The school develops disciplines such as Acrobatics, Balance, Aerials, Juggling and offers complementary courses as Dance, Theater, Music, Management, Leadership, etc. At the beginning, the main goal is to gain strength, flexibility, resistance and passion for circus. Then, students develop an individual and group discipline as their specialty. The program ends with the creation and production of a professional show.
