NIPAI's New Year Scholarship Contest

The New International Performing Arts Institute (NIPAI), in collaboration with ArtUniverse, invites theatre directors, assistant directors, actors, teachers, and choreographers to participate in the New Year Scholarship Contest.

This contest offers tuition-free access for one of our international programs or workshops, providing an opportunity to connect with a community of performing arts professionals worldwide.

About the Contest

The New Year Scholarship Contest aims to support experienced artists who are eager to deepen their directing skills and expand their creative horizons. We welcome participants from all over the world. Additionally, we encourage universities, schools, and performing arts organizations to share this opportunity with their members who are seeking professional growth.

How to Participate

Here are the steps:

1. Record a Video: Create a short video (1-3 minutes) where you share your journey as a director, why you want to enhance your directing skills, and how receiving a scholarship from NIPAI will help you grow professionally.
2. Post on Social Media: Upload your video to Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn and make sure to tag NIPAI's official account.
3. Register Your Submission: Send a link to your video to info@nipai.org to confirm your participation in the contest.

Video Theme: "How will participation in an international directing program change my professional career?" We encourage participants to be authentic and emphasize their desire for practical experience, expanding international connections, and developing unique directing approaches.

Timeline

• Video Submission Period: November 1 - December 15, 2024
• Public Voting on Instagram: December 16 - December 22, 2024
• Announcement of Results: December 24, 2024

Prizes

A list of potential contest awards:

• A partnership with NIPAI at the 22nd annual IUGTE conference "Performing Arts Between Tradition and Contemporaneity" in 2025. This includes a full scholarship for a one speaker slot and the opportunity for a group of up to 10 people to participate without paying any fees.
• A tuition-free access for a 4-week intensive workshop in Hungary, culminating in a performance in a local theatre.
• Three spots awarded for participation in one of NIPAI's international physical theatre workshops in Berlin in 2025
